To raise the awareness of Plastic Pollution in Carmel College I created a program on micro:bit. This micro:bit allows students to to count how many pieces of plastic they find in their school.
The way this works is that if a student finds a small piece of plastic they hit the left button on the microbit, this will count how many small plastic items they have found e.g. 1, 2, or 3. The same is done with the right hand side button except with big plastic items.
a. Its a cool gadget and will give the students a fun way to find plastic and put them in the bin instead of leaving it lying around.
b. It can be used as teaching resource as a platform to learn about plastic in our lake and how it is affecting the marine life in the lake.
